Germany to step up safety at nuclear storage sites following USA attacks

Text of report by German Deutschlandfunk radio on 6 October Following the terrorist attacks in the United States, the safety of planned nuclear interim storage sites has to be stepped up in Germany. The Federal Environment Office has confirmed a corresponding report published by Der Spiegel. The weekly reports that the Federal Radiation Protection Office regards the projected thickness of walls and ceilings at five storage sites as insufficient.
