Germany to step up safety at nuclear storage sites following USA attacks

Following the terrorist attacks in the United States, the safety of planned nuclear interim storage sites has to be stepped up in Germany. The Federal Environment Office has confirmed a corresponding report published by Der Spiegel. The weekly reports that the Federal Radiation Protection Office regards the projected thickness of walls and ceilings at five storage sites as insufficient. The sites in question are those at Biblis, Philippsburg, Grafenrheinfeld, Ohu und Grundremmingen.
